Coach Alex, The Shaka Runner

Hi everyone, I am Coach Alex!

I have always been a runner. From field day in elementary school, to track in middle and high school to my first mud run in college I liked to see just how fast I could go. It wasn’t until I moved to Southern California and embraced living in a Blue Zone Community, that I took to training for my first half marathon. It took 2 hours and 16 minutes to finish that half marathon, but what I finished was really only just the start.

Since then, I immersed myself into the running lifestyle, so much so that my husband proposed to me at the finish line of my first marathon! I enjoy the physical and mental strength required to run and testing those limits every time I race. Incorporating the Blue Zone principles of whole health is an integral part of my training and I find that cross-training for triathlons gives me a competitive edge.

Off the race course, I am a perpetual student of running and spend time reading, researching and learning about all things related to running. I also manage a full time professional career as a dentist so I understand what it means to train efficiently with a busy and ever changing schedule.

I am truly passionate about running and when you sign up to work with me, you will not only get an RRCA certified coach but also a mentor. For me it's not just about telling others what to do, but also showing them what to do and how to do it. So, join me and I will help you find your happy pace.
